L’appuntamento con la 71° edizione dei Golden Globes (i premi della stampa estera) è per il 12 gennaio 2014 su Nbc. Sono candidate come migliore serie comedy o musical “The Big Bang Theory” (Cbs), “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (Fox), “Girls” (Hbo), “Modern Family” (Abc), e “Parks and Recreation” (Nbc). Le candidate come miglior attrice nella stessa categoria sono Zooey Deschanel (“New Girl”), Lena Dunham (“Girls”), Edie Falco (“Nurse Jackie”), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (“Veep”) e Amy Poehler (“Parks and Recreation”); come migliori attori sono stati indicati Jason Bateman (“Arrested Development”), Don Cheadle (“House of Lies”), Michael J. Queste, infine, le nomination come miglior miniserie o tv movie: “American Horror Story: Coven” (Fx Networks), “Behind the Candelabra” (Hbo), “Dancing on the Edge” (Starz), “Top of the Lake” (Sundance Channel) e “White Queen” (Starz).
